L.K. Machinery-SAPP Group Opens Advanced Casting Tech Center In Edinburg, Indiana

The L.K./SAPP Advanced Casting Technology Center located in Edinburg, Indiana, is a collaborative investment in future innovations, solutions and processes in die casting machine technology. The ACT Center is a partnership between L.K. Machinery and SAPP Group with a multi-million dollar investment in the center's facility, machinery and technology. ACT Center participant companies include StrikoWestofen America, IECI, Die Process Control Systems, Motultech-Baraldi, and ChemTrend.
According to the firm, ACT Center will serve primarily as a hub for developing and testing of new production capable dies before they are launched into production. The target products include large automotive structural components like torque boxes, pillars and structural nodes. Powertrain components like engine blocks and transmission cases and others will also be developed here for automotive OEM's and Tier I casting suppliers.
"Our goal is to be the leading casting process development and training center in the U.S.," said Bill Damian, President of L.K. Machinery, Inc. "It's our hope to continue to make advancements for the industry, while maintaining our high standards for production quality and customer support."
L.K. Machinery is the world's largest die casting machine manufacturer, producing over 1,500 die casting machines annually that are engineered for production efficiency and ease of use. SAPP Group is a leading supplier of die cast dies and serves the largest aluminum and magnesium foundries in Europe and worldwide.
