KB Biotech Solutions Plans $12 Million Manufacturing Complex in Dillon, South Carolina

Located at 1317 East Main Street, KB Biotech Solutions purchased the 55,000-square-foot Polar Cold Storage building.
“This announcement is great news for our company, and we are excited to be locating in Dillon County. Between its proximity to suppliers, easy transportation opportunities and a dependable labor force, we look forward to what the future has in store here,” said KB Biotech Solutions CEO Yan Zhao said.
Founded in August 2006, Anhui Chem-bright Bioengineering Co. operates the largest production base of natural steroidal raw materials and intermediates in China. With an agricultural industrialization-leading enterprise, the company specializes in biomedicine and the deep processing of agricultural byproducts. Its products are widely used in pharmaceutical raw materials, cosmetics, functional foods and feed additives.
As an incentive, Coordinating Council for Economic Development has approved job development credits related to this project. A $150,000 Rural Infrastructure Fund grant was also awarded to Dillon County to assist with the costs of building upfit.
“South Carolina’s manufacturing industry continues to take our state to heights never reached before, and this announcement is further proof of that. The 100 new jobs that KB Biotech Solutions is creating in Dillon County shows that this great company is committed to our state and our people, and we couldn’t be more grateful for this new partnership,” said Governor Henry McMaster.
“Today’s announcement is proof that good things come to those who wait. We decided to make the commitment upfront of providing infrastructure, a talented workforce and available buildings, and it has paid off for Dillon County. The seeds were planted early on and now our economic development garden has begun to bear fruit. We are happy to announce that we are adding more jobs to our community and providing more opportunities for our citizens,” Dillon County Council Chairman Archie Scott noted.
“South Carolina Ports Authority looks forward to serving the export needs of KB Biotech Solutions through both Inland Port Dillon, which will open early next year, as well as our Charleston facilities. The Port plays an important role in the international supply chains of manufacturers across our state, and we look forward to supporting their addition to our state’s growing economy,” S.C. Ports Authority President &CEO Jim Newsome said.
