Worthington Industries Plans $3.3 Million Expansion At Its Chilton, Wisconsin, Cylinder Manufacturing Plant
11/27/2013
“We are pleased to expand our facility and add to the workforce in Wisconsin,” said Worthington Cylinders Chilton Operations Manager Roger Lacy. “The expansion will allow us to operate more efficiently and further grow our business.”
“We appreciate the decision by the parent company, Worthington Industries, to expand Worthington Cylinders Wisconsin operations in Chilton,” said Gov. Scott Walker.
The company, which manufactures cylinders for products such as hand torches, propane-fueled camping equipment, portable heaters and tabletop grills, is eligible for $430,000 in tax credits through the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation.
“We are pleased to provide support for this expansion project to help the company increase its production and improve its competitiveness with manufacturers in other countries,” said Reed Hall CEO and Secretary of WEDC.
The tax credits will be distributed annually based on the number of new, full-time positions created over a three year period. The company will employ 130 assembly, maintenance and screw machine operators.
