Alimex Plans Manufacturing Plant In Columbia, South Carolina
03/02/2017
Founded in Germany in 1970, Alimex supplies the worldwide metal distribution, machining and processing industry with high-precision aluminum cast plates. Through continuous product innovations, the company has achieved a leading position in both the European and global markets. Alimex has also experienced rapid growth in North America, providing high-quality, semi-finished aluminum to that market.
As an incentive, the Coordinating Council for Economic Development approved a $50,000 grant to Richland County to assist with the costs of building upfit.
“We are very excited, as Alimex, to be establishing our new factory here in South Carolina, which enables our North American business expansion. We are also pleased with the support we have received from the state and the county to help us grow,” said company President and CEO of Alimex Dean Blakeney.
“Companies like Alimex continue to come to our state and invest in our people because of all that South Carolina has to offer, and we’re committed to ensuring our continued growth. We are thankful for Alimex’s decision to do business in Richland County, and look forward to seeing what the future will bring for this fantastic company and its leadership,” Governor Henry McMaster said.
“South Carolina’s reputation as a manufacturing powerhouse continues to help us attract companies from around the world. We’re proud that Alimex has selected Richland County to establish its new operations, and we look forward to watching this partnership grow in the years to come,” Secretary of Commerce Bobby Hitt said.
